| GENERAL DESCRIPTION |
Washington, D.C. [Sept. 7, 2006] – Executive Chef Tim Elliott is introducing fantastic new dishes to the dinner and private events menus at this summer. The cuisine at Mie N Yu is described as “Contemporary American cuisine with flavors from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean”. The “Silk Road Celebration” at Mie N Yu features eclectic Silk Road-inspired cuisine, outstanding service, award-winning décor, and unbeatable ambiance.
Chef Tim’s Spring dinner menu features exciting changes to the $65 Six-Course Tasting Menu, creation of a Cheese Tasting Menu, as well as a broad range of additions to the à la carte menu. New chef’s tasting items include Chorizo Stuffed Medjool Dates, Scallops and Foie Gras, and Spiced Crab Cake. New entrée (or “proteins” at Mie N Yu) selections are Thai Red Snapper, Braised Short Ribs, Teriyaki Long Island Duck, and Grilled Hamachi. For groups of up to eight guests that are interested in a truly special dining experience, our “Birdcage” table is the perfect setting. Suspended between the first and second floors, this huge wrought iron Birdcage functions as our “Chef’s table”, and has been billed as the most intimate dining spot in the DC area!
Private Events at Mie N Yu continue to make a big impact on the DC area dining scene. Boasting four lavishly decorated rooms available for lunch, brunch, dinner, or exotic, reception-style events, Mie N Yu represents an exciting, provocative event opportunity. Private Events Manager Emily Jarmuth comments, "Each of the rooms available for events has a different décor theme, as well as size and shape. We’ve hosted a myriad of different events, accommodating guests numbering from 18-350. One of the newest event alternatives at Mie N Yu are the Venetian Tasting Menu. This menu allows guests to host their own personalized beverage tasting for clients or friends, featuring such favorite tastings as Champagne, Pinot Noir, Belgian Beers, Dessert Wines, or Mie N Yu Specialty Martinis. Chef Tim then pairs each featured beverage selection with Silk Road-inspired appetizers for the perfect pairing of food and drink. Tickets to the tastings are $35/person…buy three, get one free.
